Tanglewood
Tanglewood is easily one of the most exclusive and desirable neighborhoods in Houston. In 1948, the developer who bought up acres of flat prairie land named his soon-to-be dream community after his daughter’s favorite book, Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Tanglewood Tales. Tanglewood spans north and south of Woodway, just outside of the 610 loop, north of the Galleria. Today, the quiet neighborhood, with its decades-old live oaks, oversized lots and original ranch-style homes, still has a timeless feel. Each home site was planted with two live oaks and an additional three live oaks on every corner, making this neighborhood one of the most beautifully wooded areas. Residents enjoy the tree-shaded path along Tanglewood Boulevard. You’ll find a wide array of people finding great use for the 2-mile gravel track, chatting with friends, walking their dogs or enjoying the Houston sunshine. Close to the newly renovated Memorial Park Golf Course and hike & bike trails.
